How it works

How HVAC in Hamilton works

One short form, one local licensed contractor, no cost to you.

1. You send one request

Use the request form. Tell us the job (a repair, a new furnace or air conditioner, a heat pump, a water heater, a boiler, duct cleaning or air quality), the town and how urgent it is. A few details help the contractor arrive prepared: how the house is heated now, roughly how old the system is, and the size of the home.

2. We match it to a local contractor

We send your request to one contractor who works in your area and does that kind of work. Gas furnaces, boilers and water heaters go to a company with TSSA-certified gas technicians; air conditioners and heat pumps go to one with licensed refrigeration mechanics. We do not blast your details to a list of companies.

3. The contractor contacts you

They call or email to confirm the details and arrange a visit or a quote. You deal with them directly from there: the price, booking, payment, the warranty and any rebate paperwork.

Getting a good replacement quote

  • Ask for a heat-loss calculation, not a size copied from the old unit.
  • Get the exact model numbers in writing, so quotes can be compared.
  • Ask whether the price includes removal, venting changes, permits and the thermostat.
  • If you want a rebate, confirm the contractor will register the job with the program before installation.

What it costs

Nothing for homeowners. Contractors pay us for introductions. Prices are set by the contractor, and the ranges on this site come from published Ontario pricing and manufacturer list prices, not from a markup.

Emergencies

If the heat is out in winter, say so on the form and it goes to the front of the queue. If you smell gas, or a carbon monoxide alarm goes off, leave the house now and call Enbridge Gas at 1-866-763-5427 or 911 from outside. Do not use switches or phones inside.

Your information

We share your request only with the contractor we match it to, and only to answer it. See the privacy policy.
